It’s almost the end of January and I’m still coming to terms with completing my personal / business goals for 2016.

Finalizing your goals is hard work, after all, it’s the ones you are going to pursue all year long. Make decisions according to, and work for. At the end of 2016, your are supposed to be where the goals you set are and who they made you become.

My Content Marketing Goals

Tomorrow, I am going to dedicate some time to finish planning the outline for my  2016 content marketing efforts.

Usually, it’s the easiest part for me.

First of all – because I write so many content marketing strategies and funnels, that it’s second nature to me.

Second, because my self-branding and efforts were always very clear to me. Well at least in the last 3 years.

This year is going to be different. Why?

Because I’m officially moving on from solely a consultancy role to building a new company, and still have another new venture planned for later this year. My professional brand used to by synonymous with my personal brand and now it will become more complicated.

The other thing is that up until now, I was focused mostly on the text as my main content. I was writing a blog posts for my blog or other people’s blogs.

Last year we’ve experimented a little bit with webinars, but only did a few and admittedly never really committed to it.

Creating a lot of content requires a lot of attention and resources.

Also, there’s no reason going into a new content channel if you’re not planning on doing it right.

Some thoughts about 2016

This year I’m going to double down on the content we create.

I’ll be running this blog talking about the behind the scenes and quick tips. Keep writing for my professional blog. Probably open a new one for the new agency and of course – guest post a lot.

As you’ve probably noticed, I’m also running a very active Snapchat account, and also putting a bit more emphasis on Twitter.

I’m also planning on trying out a new podcast (thanks to Zula) and going to give another chance on doing webinars.

I would also love to do some more classic video content for youtube. But I’m still not sure I’ll have the capacity for it.

Logistics, time, and timing.

Trying to understand how to prioritize  and what to create will be the first hurdle. Then, planning and executing will be the second one.

It’s a lot of content to create, coordinate and produce.

It’s going to be hard to make the final decision on what we will be doing this year. There are so many things I want to try and do.

But tomorrow, the decisions will be made and our new content strategy will be finalized.

And of course. I will share it with you here.

Do you have your content marketing set for 2016?
